How Buzz & Blossom Farm Began

Buzz & Blossom Farm began the way many small farms do — with a garden and a growing curiosity about what might be possible.

Gardening had been part of my life since childhood, when I spent long days working beside my father in the garden. At the time it felt like hard work, and I never imagined I would choose to spend my own time doing it someday. But years later, after our children were older, I found myself drawn back outside during the warm months, rediscovering how satisfying it is to plant something, watch it grow, and share the harvest with family and friends.

As the garden grew, so did our ideas. My husband and I began spending evenings researching fruit trees, berries, grapes, and heirloom crops that could thrive here in the hills of eastern Kentucky. What started as a few small projects slowly turned into an orchard, a vineyard, and eventually even a small apiary.

Today Buzz & Blossom Farm is still growing, one season at a time. What began as a garden has become a small Appalachian farm built around a love for growing food, learning new things, and sharing the harvest with our community.
